APPLICATION PROGRAM 2009

das weisse haus is a an exhibition space for young contemporary art in Vienna, Austria. It was founded in 2007 and will continue its program at a new location in April 2009. Our aim is the presentation and support of young Austrian and international artists. das weisse haus serves as a platform where artists can interact with different spaces, present their work, attract essential publicity, and become integrated into various networks.

For our program of 2009, you may send project proposals and portfolios for:

A) Exhibitions (Solo and Group Exhibitions)
Like in 2008, selected artist will be given the opportunity for a solo exhibition. Other submissions will be included in our group exhibitions.

B) Project Spaces
With the concept of our project spaces – a mixture of conventional exhibition and studio situation – we are expanding our program with an additional element. In our new premises, 3 rooms with about
35 m2 are provided for this intention. Selected artists have the opportunity to present various works changing and developing by-and-by or works dealing with the room’s condition during 3 months. These spaces will be included in all our events, openings and will be accessable to public in agreement with the artists during our opening hours.

C) Satellites
Further, exhibitions and presentations will take place in our satellites – temporary venues – for which artists are selected currently from the pool of submissions.

We are interested in supporting projects which represent interesting and progressive tendencies that can reach an extended public. Its possible to submit individually or as a group. Decisions are announced by email till middle of April 2009.

Deadline: March 23, 2009 (date of postmark)

The application should contain documentation material of previous works/exhibitions and a current short CV including address, phone-number and email-address. Please do not submit any originals, slides or emails with more than 5 MB.

The applications will not be returned. Upon request, the material may be returned at the applicant’s
expense. The applications may also be personally picked up. All material will be saved until the end of 2009. Applicants have no legal entitlement. The jury decision is final and may not be protested.
