It\u2019s where you can search and sign up for classes, find the university webmail and the drive.<\/p><p>You can browse and filter courses in the Course Directory <a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/courses\/\">here<\/a>. After selecting a class, you have the option to sign up (plus-icon) or subscribe to it (calender icon) which adds it to your overview of <a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/courses\/mycourses\/\">Courses<\/a>. If you sign up for a course you\u2019ll have to choose the curricular section you want to allocate it to. Check the state of your curriculum on the <a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/courses\/myprogress\/\">Progress<\/a> page. Your registration will ideally be confirmed or rejected via an email. If you haven\u2019t gotten an email until shortly before the first scheduled session just wirte to the professor or show up at the first meeting for clarification. On the bottom of the <a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/courses\/mycourses\/\">Courses<\/a> page, you have the option to synch the classes that you are enrolled in with an external calendar. Classes that you have absolved are found in <a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/courses\/myprogress\/\">Progress<\/a>.<\/p><p>Besides courses the base also entails the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/cloud\/index.php\/apps\/files\/?dir=\/&amp;fileid=7087573\">Cloud<\/a>\u201d which is commonly used for file transfer between professors and students. Once you\u2019re officially subscribed to a course the relating folder gets created automatically in your personal Cloud page.<\/p><p>It also has the functions \u201cShowroom,\u201d \u201cPortfolio,\u201d and \u201cResearch.\u201d Find the Base\u2019s FAQ with more details about its functions <a href=\"https:\/\/base.uni-ak.ac.at\/faq\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p><p>To pay your university fees and retrieve your transcripts and certificate of enrollment, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/service.uni-ak.ac.at\">service page<\/a> instead. Hence, not being able to register for a class before the semester starts does not have to mean that you won\u2019t be able to take it. Our golden tip: Let the instructor know via email that you are interested in their class and show up for the first class meeting. These modalities and dates have to be set in the beginning of the semester and are not supposed to change. They all have different competencies, although in simple terms it can be said that the Rectorate has the most decision-making power, which it can implement on its own initiative. The University Council has a primarily supervisory function and usually has the final say on major decisions. The Senate's influence has been increasingly curtailed by the legislature in recent years. It mainly has an advisory function, but plays a decisive role in deciding on the statutes and content (curriculum, professors, etc.). The Rector then proposes a deputy (Vice-Rector), who must also be elected by the University Council. Together, the Rector and Vice-Rector form the Rectorate. Ultimately, the Rectorate can also only be voted out of office by the University Council.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-91463\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse91463\" aria-controls=\"collapse91463\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Who decides the president's pay? The university council decides on the employment contract of the rector.<\/p><p>On the other hand, there are statutory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ris.bka.gv.at\/GeltendeFassung.wxe?Abfrage=Bundesnormen&amp;Gesetzesnummer=20009973\">maximum limits<\/a> for the remuneration of university council members. The publicly accessible financial statements also show the total expenditure of the Rectorate.<\/p><p>In a political inquiry in 2015, the Angewandte commented in detail on salaries: \"The Angewandte is one of the five universities that also states the annual salaries of the rectorate in detail in its statement. As of July 2015, the Rector's salary amounts to 187,110 euros. The part-time vice rectors receive function allowances of between 30,000 and 36,000 euros.
