GERMAN COURSE SUMMER SEMESTER 2020!

The new semester is about to begin and we want to inform you, that the application process for the German courses for the Summer Semester will be open from the Monday 24th of February 2020. There are 35 spots fully covered for regular students from Angewandte and 15 spots for Incoming Erasmus and Exchange students.

The places are limited and will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Students are asked to make an online test in advance through the web page of the school and enroll to the course of preference again using the same web page.

*If you don’t plan to attend at least 50% of your course sessions there is a chance that you might not be considered for another semester course. Please be aware that this will be a spot fully cover for you; if you cannot attend give the chance to another student.  : )

Im Wintersemester 19/20 ist es wieder möglich die Hälfte der Studiengebühren für ausländische Studierende (doppelte Studiengebühren) zurückzuerstatten.

Bitte die Unterlagen persönlich im hufak-Büro abgeben vom 09.01.2020-31.01.2020, da nur Originale gültig sind.

Refund of doubled tuition fee

It is possible that half of the tuition fees for foreign students (double tuition fees) can be refunded.

Necessary documents:

  • Studienblatt, a prescribed length of study confirmation of enrolment
  • Inskriptionsbestätigung
  • IBAN and BIC for your bank account

Please deliver the documents personally to the Hufak office from 09.01.2020-31.01.2020, since only originals are valid.

Artist in Residence program February 2020 Belgrade

On water, next to land* 

Hostel Arkabarka offers 1 month artist residency on its splav, a floating property that is distinct to the city of Belgrade. Selected applicants will stay with us for 1 month during February 2020. 

Life on an anchored boat is not quite like being grounded on land, nor like sailing through a body of water. It provides a rare temporal space that is sound yet unpredictable. It is stable yet never truly static, as the rhythm of the space is determined by that of Danube.

We would like to use this specificity of our space to encourage critical thinking on the concept of space- in-transition, and to support creative approach on searching possibilities of in-between spaces.

Application requirements

– PDF portfolio, website or an equivalent that portrays one’s practice with minimum 5 different works

– Applicants have to be 21 years old and above at the time of application

What we provide

– Breakfast during the period of stay

– Accommodation (2 in 1 room with private toilet/ shower inside the room)

– Free use of public spaces including Sauna, common area and laundry

– Shared Studio space facing Danube (40sqm)

– Organisation of public artist talk

Donation for Homeless//Spende für Obdachlose

Dear all,

It is cold outside and we are gathering warm clothing and food to donate. Please bring your spare pullovers, jackets, warm shoes, sleeping bags, blankets, hygiene products, gloves, canned food, noodles, rice, etc to the office and we will divide the donations between shelters in Vienna. Please note that the clothes have to be clean and the food not past its expiration date

The office is open Mo-Fr 10.00-13.00, we will take donations until Fr, 13.12.

OPEN CALL – education and politics, referent and administrators

The department’s task is to observe, analyze and actively participate in shaping Austrian education policy. The department is also a contact point for students who have legal problems with their studies. The department is also the interface between the Austrian Students’ Union (ÖH) at the level of the field of study (StV) and the Austrian Students’ Union (ÖH) at the university level (UV).

You should bring this with you:

          – Comprehensive knowledge of education and politics

          – At best already familiar with the Student Union Act (HSG) and the University Act          (UG), or willingness to familiarise yourself with them quickly

  • The education policy committees of the university are held in German, therefore a very good knowledge of German is necessary.

The Austrian Student Union (ÖH) at the Universität für Angewandte Kunst (hufak) represents the interests of all students of Angewandte and represents you in committees, offers advice and organizes events. Therefore we are looking for new referents and administrators!

The ÖH Angewandte (hufak) currently consists of about 15 persons. We work as a team as well as independently in the respective referats. In addition, the ÖH is represented in all committees of the university. Working at the ÖH gives you a good insight into university structures and allows you to get actively involved in politics. Bring in your visions, for a solidary university life and for better study conditions for all!

Working hours

The team meets weekly for about 2h. In addition, there are ÖH-projects (e.g. get-togethers, workshops, winter market) and committee work, as well as the time you invest in your specific topic area. Cooperation between the departments is expressly encouraged.

Function fee

The activity in the ÖH is honorary, i.e. you do not get an hourly wage, however, there is a function fee (more details see https://www.oeh.ac.at/funktionsgebuehr). At the moment every head of the department gets 200€ per month, 10x per year (except July and August). The clerks get 100€ a month, also 10x a year (except July and August).

 OPEN CALL – BiPol, Referent_innen und Sachbearbeiter_innen

Die Aufgabe des Referats liegt in der Beobachtung, Analyse und aktiven Mitgestaltung der österreichischen Bildungspolitik. Das Referat ist auch Anlaufstelle für Studierende, die studienrechtliche Probleme haben. Das Referat ist zudem die Schnittstelle zwischen der ÖH auf Studienrichtungsebene (StV) und der ÖH auf Universitätseben (UV).

Das solltest du mitbringen:

          – Umfassende Kenntnisse von Bildung und Politik

          – Bestenfalls schon Umgang mit dem Hochschülerinnen- und           Hochschülerschaftsgesetz (HSG) und Universitätsgesetz (UG), bzw. Bereitschaft sich rasch einzuarbeiten

  • Die bildungspolitischen Gremien der Uni werden auf Deutsch abgehalten, daher sind sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse notwendig

Die Österreichische Hochschüler_innenschaft (kurz ÖH) an der Universität für angewandte Kunst (hufak) ist die Interessensvertretung aller Studierenden der Angewandten und vertritt euch in Gremien, bietet Beratung an und organisiert Veranstaltungen. Dafür werden neue Referent_innen und Sachbearbeiter_innen gesucht!

Die ÖH Angewandte (hufak) besteht derzeit aus ca. 15 Personen. Wir arbeiten sowohl im Team als auch selbständig in den jeweiligen Referaten. Zudem ist die ÖH in allen Gremien der Uni vertreten. Durch die Arbeit in der ÖH erhältst du einen guten Einblick in Unistrukturen und kannst dich aktiv politisch einbringen. Bring deine Visionen ein, für einen solidarischen Unialltag und für bessere Studienbedingungen für alle!

Arbeitszeit

Das Team trifft sich wöchentlich für etwa 2h. Hinzu kommen ÖH-Projekte (z.B. get-togethers, Workshops, Wintermarkt) und Gremienarbeit, sowie die Zeit, die ihr in euer referatsspezifisches Themenfeld investiert. Kooperationen zwischen den Referaten sind ausdrücklich erwünscht.

Funktionsgebühr

Die Tätigkeit in der ÖH ist ehrenamtlich, das heißt du bekommst keinen Stundenlohn o.ä., allerdings gibt es eine Funktionsgebühr (näheres siehe  https://www.oeh.ac.at/funktionsgebuehr). Derzeit bekommt jede Referatsleitung 200€ im Monat, 10x im Jahr (Juli und August ausgenommen). Sachbearbeiter_innen bekommen 100€ im Monat, ebenfalls 10x im Jahr (Juli und August ausgenommen).
