The climate crisis is not just an ecological issue, but a question of social justice, power, and collective responsibility. The department aims to bridge the gap between critical reflection and collective action by creating spaces for discussion and learning, supporting student-led initiatives, and advocating for structural change at Angewandte.
From events to the material library, sustainable food systems, and institutional advocacy, we seek to make climate justice part of how we live, work, and learn at the university.
And right from the start – WE’RE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS! Soon the material library will be established, where everyone at the uni can bring their leftover art materials and pick up something they need. For that, we need people who can dedicate an hour a week for the open hours of the library – and this, naturally, comes with the privilege of having access to the materials first 🙂
Apart from that, the department is open to your suggestions – whether there is something that you want to make more climate-friendly at the uni, or you have a project or an idea for collaboration – just drop an email to sustainability@hufak.net.
More information about upcoming projects and opportunities to get involved will follow! Stay tuned 💚
