Power structures such as (hetero-) sexism, trans- and inter*hostility permeate society and are also reflected in everyday university life. Thus, it is the task of the queer department to break heteronormative logics at the university and to claim queer perspectives in the ÖH and the Angewandte. We support students, coordinate essential care infrastructure, and collaborate with university bodies to foster safer and more inclusive structures.
DEPARTMENT TASKS
- Coordinate and maintain the university-wide distribution of free menstrual products (planning locations, ordering, refilling, and expansion)
- Develop and support feminist and queer initiatives that address structural inequalities
- Plan and carry out awareness-raising projects, open calls, and events
- Offer guidance and support to students in cases related to discrimination, harassment, or exclusion
- Collaborate with the university bodies on equality-related issues

FREE MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS DISPENSERS
Menstrual products (pads and tampons) are available in several university buildings. The dispensers are located in selected bathrooms and are refilled by the Queer Intersectional Feminist Department, with the help of the student representatives.
