Our department supports and counsels foreign students on all topics connected to international voices and experiences. We’re happy to advise you on the admission process, relocation to Austria, visas and residency applications for non-EU nationals, doubts about labour legislation and difficulties within the university premises or with the living conditions in Vienna.
Furthermore, it is commissioned to assist all students when and where necessary in the discourse surrounding any form of racism at the Angewandte and its environments. The department frowns at any form of discrimination at the entire university and also seeks to combat racism within the university structures and advocate for a more transparent structure.
What we do
- Referral to ÖH-lawyers
- Initiate and support events related to international affairs (exhibitions, film screenings, panel discussions, reading groups)
- Run the Buddy Programme
- Run the Discrimination Survey
- Students’ rights defence and advocacy on all university levels.
- Encourage open discussions on the topic of discrimination
- Foster inter-cultural exchanges (formal workshops and informal come-togethers)
- Reinforce the Angewandte as a dynamic and diverse environment through the visibility of voices from all backgrounds
- Oversee our Student Union’s connections within the international networks
