Diese Seite beschreibt die Struktur und Prozesse der Studierendenvertretung an der Angewandten. Es soll dabei helfen herauszufinden, an wen du dich bei Fragen wenden kannst, dir aber auch eine Idee geben, wo und wie es Möglichkeiten gibt, selber aktiv zu werden.

Universitätsvertretung (UV)
The UV is made up of 9 mandates who are elected every two years in the ÖH electionHufak (and its federal counterpart, ÖH) are legally enshrined and hold significant power and budget. Austria-wide election that is held at all Austrian universities every two years. The next ÖH election will take place in May 2027.. A formal UV meeting takes place every 1-2 months and is open to the public. You can find all minutes of the meetings under Downloads.
The UV decides on the budget, appoints Referent*innen and sends students to the university’s collegiate organs to represent student concerns. The UV is a steering body; most of the representative work is carried out by the UV chair team and the members of the UV team who are organized into different Referate.

Hufak Vorsitzteam
Die 9 Mandatar*innenDie Mandatar*innen der UV und StVs werden formell alle zwei Jahre im Rahmen der ÖH-Wahlen gewählt. Obwohl es jederzeit viele Möglichkeiten gibt, sich in der Studentenvertretung zu engagieren, liegen viele der rechtlichen Befugnisse der Hufak (Entsendung von Studenten in Kommissionen, Treffen von Ausgabenentscheidungen) letztlich bei den Mandatar*innen, die ihnen zustimmen müssen. wählen unter sich das Vorsitzteam, bestehend aus einer bzw. einem Vorsitzenden und zwei Stellvertreter*innen. Das Vorsitzteam vertritt die Studierenden nach außen aber auch gegenüber internen Gremien. Es kümmert sich um die Organisation die UV Sitzungen, regelmässiger Austausch mit dem Rektorat, sowie der Bundes ÖH.

Referat für Kunst & Theorie
Das Referat für Kunst & Theorie unterstützt Studierende bei der Umsetzung ihrer Projekte und vertritt ihre Interessen an der Universität – beispielsweise im Beirat des Heiligenkreuzerhofs oder bei der Raumvergabe für Diplomarbeiten. Wir fördern Projekte, die über die individuelle künstlerische Praxis hinausgehen und Kollektivität sowie Diskurs stärken. Dafür bieten wir verschiedene Stipendien wie die Sonderprojektförderung und die Blitzförderung an.

Department for Community & Events
Ziel des Referats ist es die verschiedenen Studierenden-Communities an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst zu aktivieren, zu vernetzen und somit das Gemeinschaftsgefühl zwischen den Studierenden zu fördern. Dies sowohl universitätsweit als auch bei Studierendengruppen mit spezifischen Anliegen. Das Referat organisiert diverse zugängliche, gemeinschaftsbasierte und -fördernde Formate sowie Events und unterstützt bereits bestehende Studierenden-Communities bei der Kommunikation & Durchführung eigener Veranstaltungen.

Department for Infrastructure & Events
Das Infrastrukturreferat kümmert sich um den technischen Bestand der HUFAK und organisiert deren Verleih. Wir unterstützen Studierende bei der Durchführung von Veranstaltungen sowie bei technischen und autonomen Infrastrukturen. Zudem planen wir Neuanschaffungen für das technische Inventar.

Referat für Internationale Studierende und Anti-Rassismus
Unser Referat unterstützt und berät internationale Studierende beim Aufnahmeverfahren, der Einreise und dem Umzug nach Österreich, bei Visums- und Aufenthaltsfragen (für Nicht-EU-Bürger*innen), bei Arbeitsrechtsfragen sowie bei Schwierigkeiten im Universitätsalltag. Wir treten jeder Form von Diskriminierung entgegen und engagieren uns aktiv im Anti-Rassismus-Diskurs an der Angewandten.

Referat für Intersektionalen QueerFeminismus
Machtstrukturen wie (Hetero-)Sexismus, Trans- sowie Inter*feindlichkeit durchziehen die Gesellschaft und prägen auch den universitären Alltag. Die Aufgabe unseres Referats ist es, heteronormative Logiken an der Universität zu durchbrechen und queere Perspektiven in der ÖH sowie an der Angewandten einzufordern. Wir unterstützen Studierende, koordinieren notwendige Care-Infrastrukturen und arbeiten mit universitären Stellen für sicherere, inklusivere Strukturen zusammen.

Referat für IT & Digitale Infrastruktur
Zuständig für alle Belange rund um Informationstechnologie, EDV sowie digitale Tools und Systeme innerhalb der ÖH. Das Referat verwaltet digitale Infrastrukturen (Webplattformen, E-Mail-Verteiler, Nextcloud-Speicher und Reservierungssysteme), berät bei der technischen Umsetzung von Projekten, koordiniert IT-Sicherheits- und Datenschutzmaßnahmen und fungiert als Ansprechstelle für technische Probleme.

Das PR-Referat informiert über Neuigkeiten und bewirbt Projekte von und für Studierende der Angewandten. Wir betreuen den regelmäßigen HUFAK-Newsletter, die Website sowie die Social-Media-Kanäle (Facebook & Instagram) der ÖH Angewandte.

Dieses Referat thematisiert die ungleiche Verteilung kultureller Teilhabe und des Zugangs zu Kunstausbildungen aufgrund der sozialen Herkunft. Wir untersuchen, wie sich Klassismus an der Angewandten manifestiert, machen bestehende Missstände sichtbar und entwickeln Projekte, um diesen gezielt entgegenzuwirken.

Studienvertretungen (StVs)
The study programme representatives (StVs) consist of representatives elected directly by the students of a study programme and are the first point of contact for study-related concerns. They represent the interests of students vis-à-vis the institute and faculty, appoint the members of study-relevant committees such as StuKo and work to improve study conditions. Just like the UV, they can only be elected every 2 years in the ÖH electionHufak (and its federal counterpart, ÖH) are legally enshrined and hold significant power and budget. Collegiate organs
Collegiate organ is the umbrella term for all democratic committees of the university in which representatives of students, professors, assistants (“Mittelbau”) and general staff come together to discuss and decide on various issues. These university commitees are spaces where student representatives can have the biggest impact on university life: you sit at the same table as professors and university staff, with the same voting rights and a direct say in important decisions.
Any student can be nominated to join a collegiate organ — unlike the StVs (which can only be elected every two years) members can be swapped out any time.
Senat
The senate is the university’s highest democratic body, which oversees all curriculum changes as well as administrative and strategic decisions of the university. You can find more information on the Senate website.

Studienkommissionen (StuKo)
There are many Studienkommissionen at Angewandte. Student members that attend the StuKos are nominated by the respective StVs. You can find more information about StuKo work under How to StuKo.
Berufungs- und Habilitationskommissionen
Appointment- and habilitation commissions are temporary university committees, usually active for a few months, that evaluate and decide on the appointment of new professors and the awarding of the Habilitation (the qualification to teach independently at university level).
