Join Hufak!

At its core, Hufak is a group of around 15 people who work both as a team and independently in our respective departments. We are a reflective and collegial team that enjoys helping each other and working closely together.

We are error-friendly because we all make mistakes and have been socialized in this society in one way or another. We try to point out our mistakes and unlearn them. We all actively communicate in a group Telegram chat, and have our own mail system where we receive and send official mail.

How much work is being in Hufak?

The activity in the Student Union is voluntary, so there are no fixed work hours. We do however hold weekly team meetings (currently 2 hours every Monday evening) during lecture time which we expect members to attend whenever possible. In these meetings, the departments update each other on tasks and concerns, then as needed concerns are discussed and finally decisions are voted on. On top of that, most departments hold a weekly office hour to work on department projects and consult students.

What should I bring if I want to join Hufak?

  • interest in actively shaping the student life at the university and beyond
  • organising stuff together in a team
  • a high tolerance of Telegram group chats and e-mails
  • time & energy

What do I get for being in Hufak?

Being part of Hufak is not a job, i.e. you don’t get an hourly wage, and no health insurance. You do however receive a “function fee”, which is between 100 and 245€ per month (depending in your role and department), paid 10 times a year.

On top of the function fee you get additional perks for being in Hufak, such as tuition fee exemption, extra tolerance semesters for Studienbeihilfe, as well as ECTS to use for your free electives (Freie Wahlfächer).
