Starting at a new university might sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you’re arriving from another country… We, at the Angewandte Student Union (HUFAK)’s International Students and Anti-Racism Department, know that it is not easy to find your way through new systems, cultures, and expectations all at once, and that’s exactly why we are now launching a new Buddy Programme for the Angewandte students.
All new incoming students are welcome! Students with refugee status or who are still seeking asylum shall be granted priority*

The University of Applied Arts Vienna is launching a competition of ideas for new toilet pictograms – moving beyond the usual skirt vs. trousers, male vs. female symbols. We are looking for signs that include everyone. New pictograms are being sought for all types of use!
All regular students of the University of Applied Arts Vienna can participate. Deadline for submissions is February 28th, 2026. You can find all details about the competition in the Open Call on the Angewandte website.
Hufak is once again acting as a drop-off point for donations to SOS Balkanroute.
